John Wilson (1710-1767) and wife Jennet Stinson Wilson were first-generation Scots-Irish family members to Bucks County Pennsylvania; emigrating from County Antrim Ireland around 1730-1735. John’s uncle was Gilbert Wilson, a prosperous farmer from Glenvernoch Scotland, near Bargrennan. Gilbert’s daughter was the now famous Margaret Wilson. In 1685, Margaret was drowned at the stake in the coastal town of Wigtown (or Wigton) Scotland for exercising her religious beliefs as a Presbyterian Covenanter. She became known as a Martyr of Wigtown as she defied the orders of Anglican Episcopalian King Charles II. What follows is an amazing story of courage and faith.Write your text here...
