Let's Build A Road

Below is a copy of a 1756 petition from Robert Thompson, and relatives William Keith, John Beaumont, Charles Stewart, and John Knowles from Upper Makefield and Solebury Townships, to the Court of Common Pleas requesting that a road be built through the London Company land (the upper part of Upper Makefield Twp) east to Riverside Road near John Beaumont's land (also in Upper Makefield Twp) so that the `back settlers' may have easier access to and from Robert Thompson's mill (in the southern part of Solebury Township).
